Nutty Badgers ESU

FAQ

What are Explorer Scouts?

Explorer Scouts are the fourth section of the Scout Association and are aged 14-18.

When do you meet?

Nutty Badgers meet every Friday, usually 7:30pm until 9:30pm, although we occasionally meet half an hour earlier. We usually meet at the Upton St. Leonards Village Hall. We also do events outside of regular meeting times such as marshalling, fundraising and camping – these are optional and Explorers will be told when they’re happening (some may involve an extra cost).

How much will it cost?

Nutty Badgers pay subs of £7.50 a month, if paid by standing order. If you want to pay by cash or cheque then it’s £35 per term. Camps and other events are charged separately.

What do you wear?

Explorer Scouts wear a beige shirt and a Nutty Badgers necker as standard. Nutty Badgers also offer branded clothing which maybe worn instead of the uniform at some weekly meetings and on camps. To find out more about our uniform, click here.

Who runs the unit?

As with all Scouting groups and units, Nutty Badgers is run by volunteer leaders.

When can I join Nutty Badgers?

If you are interested in joining our unit then please contact us and we’ll give you all the information you need.

I’m over/under 18, can I join?

There’s room for everyone in the Scouting family. If your not quite old enough for Explorers please take a look at Gloucestershire County and they will direct you to your nearest Scout group. If you’re between 18 and 25, take a look at Gloucestershire Network, this is the group our Explorers progress to.
